"Everyone knows my feelings for this club. I've received a lot of confidence from the club, from the entire board and also my team, the players," Xavi said in a press conference when asked why he was making a U-turn on his earlier decision.
Speaking further, Xavi said: "The project is not finished, we must continue working. I feel strong to keep going. I noticed a lot of confidence in me. The support of the players.
"It is a winning project and because of the enthusiasm of the Barcelona fans, they are the reasons for me to stay," Xavi added.
Back in January, Xavi announced he would leave Barca at the end of the season. However, his decision faced resistance from fans and many decision-makers at the club.
Xavi will now stay until June 2025 when his contract runs out. Barca may decide to extend it.
