'It looks like only I need to improve': Pochettino urges players to take responsibility for Chelsea problems

Mauricio Pochettino insists that he is not the only one who should step up to prove that they have a place in the Chelsea project beyond this season.

"It looks like only I need to improve. It is always the coach who needs to improve to deserve to be here next season," he told a press conference.

"We are all responsible for the situation and we all need to improve that we deserve to be here next season. That is a good question."

It was clearly a message to the players who need to react to a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal earlier this week.

On Saturday, Chelsea are taking on Aston Villa, another tough opponent above them in the Premier League table.
