Mason Greenwood scored a stunning brace for Getafe in their 3-1 win over Almeria in La Liga, on the same day when Man United were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley.
After the game, the Spanish club’s manager Jorge Bordalas was asked about the Englishman’s long-term future at the club and replied: “We haven’t spoken about it yet. He’s in the same situation as the other loanees.
“When the season is over, it will be time to get down to work to see if Mason will be able to stay another year or not. It will depend on his club and the decision he makes.”
Getafe are reportedly really eager to sign Greenwood permanently in the summer after watching him excel in his loan. However, the Man United loanee is likely to seek to join a bigger club that can compete for major trophies next season if he really isn’t retained by the Red Devils.
The 22-year-old has scored eight goals and provided five assists so far in 30 appearances for Getafe in the 2023/24 season.
