Man United's initial transfer budget for 2024 summer window revealed

Man United are going to be quite active in the 2024 summer transfer window to fix some persisting issues within the squad.

As per ESPN, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos have approved an initial net budget of around £100m that can be spent on signings.

If they want to increase that amount significantly, then the club will have to off-load some of the highest-earners in the squad and generate funds from player sales.

A reason why Man United’s budget is so limited is because of Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which warn of major consequences if a team overspends its finances.

The Red Devils will have to be smart with their spending under the new management set-up by Sir Jim, with technical director Jason Wilcox likely to play a key role in transfers.

Man United are also likely to release multiple first-team players like Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane and can free up a chunk in their wage-bill by doing so as well.

For the time being, the Red Devils are reportedly prioritizing the signing of a new centre-back, forward and left-back in the summer.
