Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel scored the equaliser against Atletico Madrid in the dying seconds of the Champions League clash, the game ending 1-1
Provedel came to Atletico's penalty area for a corner kick. Although the initial attempt failed, the following cross found Provedel's head and the 29-year-old goalkeeper was clinical.
You also have to appreciate the movement as he slithers past everyone to connect to the cross. This possibly comes from the fact Provedel played as a striker until the age of 15 when he switched to being a goalkeeper.
Atletico footballers had to hold their heads in disbelief as the home team erupted in joy.
It seems like initially, the goalkeeper wanted to get back to his goal as possible to avoid conceding (history knows examples). But as the teammates circled Proveel, it was impossible to escape.
But anyway, Providel had nothing to worry about — it was the last action of the game as the final whistle blew.
Also, appreciate the emotions on Maurizio Sarri's face as his goalkeeper saves a point for his team.
