Boubacar Kamara has been a revelation signing for Aston Villa. But despite being good, he probably didn't expect to be so good he'd get called up by France — so he booked a honeymoon for after the season end.
He married Coralie Porrovecchio at the start of June and the pair were fully expecting to jet off to a warm place.
Yet the plans were scrapped because Kamara got called up by France for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece as a replacement for the injured Adrien Rabiot.
His wife wrote on her Instagram stories in French: "I don’t know if to laugh or cry. Honeymoon postponed. The hazards of the lives of the wives of footballers that you so envy."
She then said in the following story: "We were on our way to our honeymoon. We were supposed to arrive in Paris tonight and leave tomorrow morning.
"Except that there was a little bit of unexpected news, because Boubacar was called up to the France team. So we had to get off the plane, pick up the suitcases, and here we are back in Marseille. Trip postponed for a good cause, but that’s that."
