Andres Iniesta's life-size statue set to be unveiled – but not in Barcelona

Andres Iniesta's statue is set to be presented to public on June 3, reports Marca's Luis Castelo.

The event will take place in Albacete where the legendary player was born. Iniesta himself is going to be present.

The life-size statue shows the midfielder scoring his iconic goal against the Netherlands in the 2010 World Cup final.

Andres Iniesta was part of the Albacete academy from 1994 to 1996 before joining La Masia and eventually making 674 appearances for Barcelona's first team.

The 39-year-old currently plays for UAE side Emirates Club. He has registered five goal contributions in 16 appearances for his current team.
