One turning point in Barcelona's season came during their Champions League quarter-final clash against PSG. The Blaugrana went away and won 3-2 and were full of confidence ahead of the second leg. But shockingly, Barca were thrashed at home to exit the tournament.
"On a tactical level, both in the first leg and the second leg, we were better than PSG," Xavi said after announcing his decision not to leave Barca.
"We lacked competition after Araujo's red card. It is always very difficult to win [with 10 men], but for that, we have to mature," Xavi added.
Barcelona were leading 1-0 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate before Araujo was shown a red card for stopping a goalscoring opportunity by fouling PSG's Bradley Barcola.
Barca went on to concede four goals on the night as PSG ran riots to bulldoze their way into the semi-final.
