Barcelona's sporting director Deco likes Luis Enrique a lot and wants him to replace Xavi at the end of next season, reports Diario Sport.
Barca are said to be closely monitoring the situation surrounding Enrique's contract at PSG with a clear intention to move for him in 2025.
Enrique has done reasonably well since joining PSG last summer. The Spanish coach already won the French league with games to spare while guiding his team to the Champions League semi-final and French Cup final.
However, his deal with PSG is due to expire in the summer of 2025 but multiple sources say PSG would extend it at the end of this season.
Barca hopes that Enrique doesn't renew his contract with PSG to make it easier to land him as a free agent next year.
The report claims Deco wanted Enrique to replace Xavi this year but there was a U-turn from the ex-midfielder and Enrique was unwilling to break his PSG contract.
