Liverpool saw their 2023/24 Premier League title hopes take a major dent with a shocking 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.
After the game, Jurgen Klopp lamented injuries ruining his side’s momentum and stated: “It's different aspects, definitely. Players that have played all the games are not fresh, but for other teams, it's the same.
“I don't really wanna use that as an excuse, as long as the boys are fit, not injured, that helps. Let me say, Gabriel and Saliba played all the games for Arsenal.
“Did they play a little bit less than us, I don't know 100 per cent but they played a lot of games as well. Coming back from injury obviously is then slightly different, because of the intensity, the game is not waiting for you.”
Arsenal have been fortunate to have both Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes available throughout the campaign, with the two helping Arsenal keep the best defensive record in the Premier League and keep the most clean sheets – resulting in such a strong push for the championship.
However, the Arsenal defenders need to maintain their high-quality performances and keep churning out clean sheets in the final four matches of the campaign to empower chances of winning the Premier League title.
