Arsenal are reportedly trying to push for the signing of Brazilian young sensation Estevao Willian, better known as ‘Messinho’.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL, the 17-year-old Palmeiras star has become a top target for not only the Gunners, but also other clubs like Chelsea and Barcelona.
Arsenal have, although, opened talks with his representatives over the possibility of joining them in the summer transfer window.
Willian has a £38m release clause in his contract with Palmeiras, which is still valid for two more years (until 2026).
Edu Gasper will, however, have to work hard to convince the teenage sensation to reject the other offers and join the Arsenal project for the future.
Willian is a natural right-winger, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder. He has earned his reputation for being an incredible dribbler, hence the comparisons to Lionel Messi – as well as his creativity and prolific nature in front of goal.
The 17-year-old has made 14 appearances for Palmeiras senior team so far, scoring three goals and also has three goals in five matches for Brazil’s under-17 side.
