Former Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil has recently retired from professional football.
With more free time on his hands, the German has been hitting the gym hard – you would barely recognize him in the street these days.
On Firday, Ozil took to social media to share a picture of himself in front of a mural that displayed him wearing Real Madrid, Werder Bremen and Schalke jerseys at different stages of his career.
"Proud of my career and all the amazing clubs I’ve had the privilege to play for – only one club that was missing: My Italian love. Juve, storia di un grande amore," the caption to the post reads.
His choice may seem surprising at first glance, but when you consider Ozil's long-standing admiration for Zinedine Zidane, it all starts to make sense.
