Real Madrid went all out to sign Brazilian super-talent Endrick Felipe because they didn't want to repeat the mistake they made in the case of Neymar.
“Real Madrid decided that they were never going to miss another talent like Vinicius or Endrick after Neymar moved to Barcelona," Endrick agent Pena said.
“Maybe there is a lesson for Chelsea because they were in front at the start but they were worried about the fee and then when Real came in and were prepared to pay what Palmeiras wanted, it became almost impossible for them,” the agent added.
Recall that a then 13-year-old Neymar came to Real Madrid for trials but the club could not reach an agreement with the player's representatives.
Real Madrid decided not to take the same chance with Endrick as they paid Palmeiras €45m asking price to sign the 16-year-old. Meanwhile, Chelsea already invited the player to London and had convinced him with their project.
PSG were another team who showed interest in Endrick but the player was only set on joining Real Madrid after Los Blancos showed interest.
