Man United are confident of their chances of roping in Jason Wilcox as their new technical director once they can agree a compensation package with Southampton.
As per the Mirror, the hierarchy at Old Trafford are also hopeful that Wilcox can use his influence to help them make key signings in the summer.
There is hope that the Englishman can help Man United agree the signing of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer.
Wilcox reportedly has a close working relationship with Branthwaite’s agent David Reeves, and Man United feel that this can give them an edge in the possibility of signing him.
With that being said, it could be really tough to get Everton to sell their prized asset as they do not want to sell him in the summer.
However, the Toffees could be forced to make the deal due to their financial troubles and are reportedly ready to sell him for a whopping £75m.
Branthwaite has made 20 appearances for Everton in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals and helping them keep eight clean sheets.
