Man United picked up a thrilling 3-2 win over Newcastle United in their final home match of the 2023/24 Premier League season at Old Trafford.
Despite the victory, the Red Devils are still sitting in eighth place in the league table and behind Chelsea and Newcastle United.
However, Man United are now joint on points with the Magpies heading into the final match of the Premier League campaign.
The only way Man United can finish in the top-7 is by winning the upcoming game against Brighton. They also need to hope that Newcastle United drop points in their final game.
Now, it isn’t impossible for Man United to actually finish in sixth place. But A LOT has to go their way for that to happen.
Firstly, the Red Devils must pick up a huge win over Brighton, probably by over 7 or 8 goals. Then they need to hope for Chelsea to lose by a huge margin too, by like 8-9 goals. Also, Newcastle United needs to lose their last game in this highly improbably situation.
