Did Liverpool deserve to lose today vs Everton? Stats-based answer

Today, after Liverpool lost to Everton 0-2, we can say that Reds' race for the title is probably over. However, the question is, was it actually a fair result, or did we deserve to win?

According to Sofascore, Liverpool took 23 shots on goal with a combined xG of 2.06 xG, while Everton only accumulated 1.09 xG with 16 shots. Liverpool also completely dominated the Toffees in ball posession (77% to 23%) and corner kicks (13 to 4). Ironically, it were the Reds who conceded a goal after the corner.

Considering all of this, we can say, that the result 2-1 to the Reds would be move than fair. Liverpool definitely deserved to win today, but did not even manage to score a single goal because of poor finishing.
