One Liverpool flop having breakthrough season in France – scores and assists v PSG

Takumi Minamino is enjoying a great spell in Ligue 1 this season.

The Japanese attacker scored a goal and delivered an assist against Paris Saint-Germain on Friday. Even though Monaco lost 5-2, he was his team's best player on the pitch.

Minamino's rise in form isn't really surprising. Monaco's new head coach, Adi Hutter, used to train the Japanese at Red Bull Salzburg in late 2010s. Takumi's new tactical role suits him very well.

Minamino mostly plays as an advanced playmaker on the right wing, sometimes moving into the attacking midfield. He's got 8 goal contributions in 12 games already this season.

The 28-year-old scored 14 goals and provided 3 assists in 55 appearances for Liverpool.
