Saudi Clubs allocate £2bn budget for marquee summer signings, Kevin de Bruyne being eyed for blockbuster move

The Saudi Pro League clubs are again looking to shock the footballing world by signing some of the best players from Europe’s major teams in the 2024 summer transfer window.

According to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs, the Saudi Arabia clubs are looking to make 5-6 more marquee signings in the summer window.

To make that happen, a transfer budget of £2bn has been allocated for them to spend – with the Saudi government helping with that too.

Kevin de Bruyne is a major transfer target for some of the major Saudi clubs, even though the general feeling is he’ll stay at Man City.

Despite that, some Saudi clubs feel that a bid of around £100m – with significant bonuses – could be necessary for them to tempt the Belgian midfielder to leave the Cityzens.

De Bruyne has been one of Europe’s best playmakers so far this season, having scored six goals and providing 16 assists in just 21 matches.
