Ajax in increasing danger of missing out on Graham Potter appointment, reason revealed

Ajax are no longer the favorites to appoint ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter as their new manager, as per Dutch outlet AD.

There is a large difference in terms of the offer that the Eredivisie heavyweights are willing to give Potter and what he is demanding to take the job.

As a result, Ajax are now in danger of losing out on the English manager – who might be willing to wait for other opportunities to pop up.

Ajax are instead looking into the possible appointment of another foreign manager in OGC Nice boss Francesco Farioli.

Farioli has impressed with his work for the French club this season, enabling them to concede the fewest goals (25 after 31 matches) in Ligue 1 so far.

The 35-year-old Italian has worked under Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi in the past and has been a football coach since the age of 20.

Ajax are currently struggling to keep up in the Eredivisie top-4 race, as they’re currently in fifth place and nine points behind fourth-place AZ Alkmaar and look to miss out on Champions League football once again.
