'A player's career peak is from 25 to 32': Joao Cancelo downplays Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal role

In his latest interview, Joao Cancelo has said something Cristiano Ronaldo may not like.

"He is an important player and spent 15 years competing with Lionel Messi for the Ballon d'Or, but the peak of a footballer's career is between 25 and 32. We [Portugal] don't depend entirely on him."

Straightforward but honest. Cristiano is 39 already and plays outside of Europe, so he can't be too impactful for a team full of younger stars. Nevertheless, he is expected to lead his side up front at the upcoming Euros.

Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix will be there too, of course. The biggest European tournament will take place from June 14 to July 14.
