Lionel Messi delivered five assists for Inter Miami against New York Red Bulls last Sunday, making history as the first player ever to achieve 1200 goal contributions in official matches.
While it is a huge milestone, the Argentine acted as if it was nothing special in the dressing room following the game. Speaking on his Player/Manager podcast, Messi's teammate Julian Gressel shared an endearing moment:
"Out of habit, I go around the locker room after a game and dab everyone up with a high-five or a hug. I get to Leo and I gave him a high-five and I was like ‘Five assists today?’ and he was like ‘Yeah,’ all shy and looking down, but smiling shyly, it was a cool moment to see him so humble and to look almost embarrassed.”
Messi could be smashing records left and right, yet he's still as humble and down-to-earth as ever.
