Chelsea Women were defeated by Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. After a 1-0 win in Spain, the Blues lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The game was marred by controversial decisions, including the sending-off of Chelsea defender Kadeisha Buchanan and the tie-winning penalty awarded to Barcelona.
The most common reaction by Chelsea fans on social media was the clip of Didier Drogba shouting 'it's a f***king disgrace' after the Blues were hard done by against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. That happened 15 years ago, but the name of Tom Henning Ovrebo is still remembered by the Blues for all the wrong reasons.
Now, there's a feeling that the story has repeated itself.
JPH: "Not really sure what to say. Hard to take when you’re not in a fair fight"
Conn: "Chelsea’s ladies have been robbed. Absolutely shocking refereeing. Robbery."
London Is Blue Podcast: "We had them. The referee gave the game to Barcelona. What an absolute shame. Emma did not deserve this."
CFCDaily: "Full Time: Chelsea 0-2 Barcelona (1-2). Chelsea exit the UWCL. A bad day for UEFA."
