Chelsea were able to scrape their way past Leeds United with a hard-fought 3-2 win in the FA Cup fifth-round clash at Stamford Bridge.
However, it wasn’t the easiest clash at all for the Blues – who were often troubled by the intensity of the Championship side.
What made things trickier is how sloppy Chelsea’s passing out from the back was. Robert Sanchez looked a bit shaky in goal, and ended up conceding cheap goals.
The Spaniard was particularly poor with his long balls, only completing 3/9 attempts in that regard. Some Chelsea fans want him to be benched for Djordje Petrovic after the game, as they reacted on Twitter.
Omotolani Adebanjo: “After today's game, Robert Sánchez should return to the bench.”
Dee Process: “We can all agree that Robert Sanchez cannot be our no 1.”
Kay: “Really hope that Robert Sánchez starting tonight means Pochettino has made Petrović our officially no. 1.”
Jerry: I think we are all in agreement that Djordje Petrovic is miles better than Robert Sanchez and he should remain our main GK.”
CFCPys: “I hope Petrovic keeps his place as number one on Saturday, I don’t think Robert Sanchez is bad, but it is clear that Petrovic brings us more composure, in my opinion.”
