'Here we go': Romano confirms Maatsen to join Dortmund

"Ian Maatsen to Borussia Dortmund, here we go!" Fabrizio Romano tweeted.

"Verbal agreement in place between BVB and Chelsea on loan deal with salary covered.

"More: understand Maatsen will travel on Tuesday… then medical booked on Wednesday. Maatsen accepted BVB days ago, deal done."

Romano does not mention a buyout clause or an option in Chelsea's loan agreement with Dortmund. The 21-year-old is contracted to the Blues until 2025.

The full-back has made 15 appearances for the Blues across all competitions this season, most of the time as a substitution.
