Not just Andrey Santos: 3 Chelsea loans that haven't gone according to plan

Chelsea have signed a lot of young players under Todd Boehly's ownership and some of them have been sent out on loan.

While Angelo is doing extremely well at Strasbourg, not everyone has adapted that well to a new team. Here are three loans that haven't worked out so far.

Andrey Santos, Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian is arguably one of the most promising Chelsea youngsters. His potential has already been recognised by Brasil as he won his first senior cap in March this year.

However, things aren't going well for the midfielder at Forest. He still hasn't made a single Premier League appearance, featuring only once so far this season — in a 1-0 loss to Burnley in the League Cup.

David Datro Fofana, Union Berlin. The Ivorian spent the second part of the previous season on Chelsea's bench so the decision to go on loan was probably the best for his development.

Yet things aren't going to plan for him with Union, where he's still failed to score despite making ten appearances. Union are on a six-game losing streak in the Bundesliga and the 20-year-old's form hasn't been helping his side.

Diego Moreira, Lyon. The promising Portuguese arrived at Chelsea in the summer and was sent out to Lyon which seems like a terrible choice of a club to go to at the moment.

Lyon are in a sorry state as the former French giants are currently 18th in Ligue 1. Moreira has played slightly over an hour of football over two games and hasn't featured since September 23.
