Fabrizio Romano rates Chelsea's chances to sign Rayan Cherki next year (reliability: 5 stars)

Chelsea were linked to a move for Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki at one point of the 2023 summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano claims that the Blues didn’t really push to sign him at any point of the window, but only held talks once.

He wrote on his CaughtOffside blog: “From what I’m told, there was nothing concrete this summer. Chelsea were not working on the Cherki deal, he’s always been monitored, but he was not a priority on their list this summer.

“It was never something close or concrete, also because the player wasn’t desperate to move this summer, maybe in 2024.”

It appears that Chelsea might go back for Cherki’s signing next summer if they feel the need to sign another attacking midfielder.
