Silvestre defends Rice's transfer fee

Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre believes the Gunners had no choice but to pay the £105 million transfer fee demanded by West Ham for Declan Rice.

He told GGRecon: "The market decides the prices. The valuation is what it is and Arsenal were prepared to pay the price for Declan, so it proves how highly they value his ability. English teams have to pay a premium for English players. What matters is what Declan will deliver on the pitch."

Two Bundesliga sides interested in Nuno Tavares

As per Football London, Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen have approached Arsenal to sign Nuno Tavares.

However, the left-back prefers to stay in England and play in the Premier League this season.

Juventus re-ignites Thomas Partey interest

Juventus had reignited their interest to sign Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey after holding talks with his agents over a deal a few days ago, as per Gianluca di Marzio.

However, the Italian club are focusing on selling some players before making a bid for Partey.

Martin Odegaard has voiced his pride at being able to lead this Arsenal squad heading into the new season.
