Real Madrid players and coaching staff enjoyed three days off following the Alaves thrashing (5-0). Even Carlo Ancelotti seized the opportunity for a rare break in the tight Los Blancos schedule to fly back home to Italy.
Only three players continue to show up for training during this downtime. According to Marca, those players are Andriy Lunin, Thibaut Courtois and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Certainly, each goalkeeper has their reasons for being there.
For instance, Lunin and Courtois are both competing for a spot between the sticks in the Champions League final, each eager to prove their worth.
As for Kepa, the Chelsea loanee is hoping to secure some minutes before returning to Stamford Bridge in June. We totally get him – who wouldn't relish the chance to don the iconic jersey one last time?
