According to Diario AS, if Xavi is dismissed it would be because of some comments he made before Barca's game against Almeria.
Xavi referenced Real Madrid in those comments by claiming Barcelona may be unable to compete against Los Blancos due to the economic disparity.
"We are going to try and compete against Real Madrid. But I think that Cules must understand that the situation is very difficult on an economic level," Xavi said.
Barca president Joan Laporta reportedly feels betrayed by Xavi's words. The politician wants Xavi to sound optimistic and believes Barca can compete and win titles regardless of who Real Madrid signs.
There is an ongoing meeting at the Barca offices to decide Xavi's faith.
Barcelona finished the season trophyless with Real Madrid winning La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup while Athletic Bilbao won the Copa Del Rey.
