Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham: Latest Ballon d'Or power rankings

The 2023/24 season is almost at an end with the best performers already distinguishing themselves. Real Madrid have won La Liga comfortably and are on course to win yet another Champions League title, it's why the Ballon d'Or winner will most likely come from Madrid.

Albeit, collective trophies won by players will go a long way in determining where the top players finish in the Ballon d'Or podium later in October. Their individual performances will also be taken into account.

Here's the latest power rankings of the 2024 Ballon d'Or.

1. Vinicius Jr.

The Brazilian has distinguished himself by showing up in clutch moments for Real Madrid, particularly in the Champions League where he has five goals and five assists in 9 games.

Vinicius has suddenly emerged as the favourite to win the prestigious award and will become the first Brazilian to do it since Kaka if he wins it.

Vini's teammates are already drumming up support for him, but that may not be enough if he doesn't win the Champions League and probably the Copa America, maybe.

2. Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham could win La Liga's top scorer award in his first season at Real Madrid. That's outrageous for a 20-year-old midfielder arriving at a humongous club like Madrid.

Bellingham has become a darling to the Real Madrid fans for his work rate and productivity in the final third.

What's more, Jude already has 23 goals and 13 assists this season — if he wins the Champions League and Euros he could even beat Vini to the big award.

3. Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe started the season like a house on fire and scored 27 goals in 29 games to finish as Ligue 1 top scorer and MVP.

However, Mbappe flopped in big moments for PSG like in the Champions League quarterfinal against Dortmund. Perhaps he still has a chance to clinch the Ballon d'Or if he leads France to win the Euros as best player.

4. Harry Kane

The English striker scored an incredible amount of goals in his first season at Bayern Munich. Unfortunately, he still failed to win a trophy once again.

But with 44 goals and 12 assists for Bayern, you wouldn't write Kane off if England were to win the Euros. Nevertheless, his teammate Bellingham would have an edge on him for his Real Madrid performance.

5. Phil Foden

Foden has enjoyed an incredible season on a personal level. His cracking goal at the Santiago Bernabeu silenced the massive stadium for some minutes during the Champions League quarter-final. Although Madrid still proved indomitable.

Foden is likely to be named the best player in the Premier League this season after scoring 25 goals and grabbing 11 assists.
