JUST IN: Real Madrid STOPPED from lifting La Liga title at Santiago Bernabeu

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has stopped Real Madrid from waiting until they play at the Santiago Bernabeu before showcasing their La Liga title, Marca say.

Real Madrid initially planned to first present their title to the Bernabeu fans on Sunday, May 14 after their game against Alaves, but the new instruction from the authorities means will do it this Saturday in Granada on May 11.

It's a shocking decision from the RFEF considering that Granada's stadium is over 400 kilometres away from Madrid and this is the first time in La Liga history that a league champion is being made to lift their trophy in an away stadium.

The RFEF are yet to decide whether Real Madrid will present the trophy after or before the Granada game given that Granada could be relegated by full-time depending on other results.

Real Madrid reportedly plans an open bus parade on Sunday, May 14 to celebrate their 36th La Liga crown.

A bigger parade could happen in June if Real Madrid goes on to win the Champions League.
