Argentine sensation Franco Mastantuono has chosen Real Madrid ahead of a host of clubs pushing for his signature, Relevo reveals.
Mastantuono recently signed a new contract with River Plate that upped his release clause to a staggering €45m. But several top European clubs have continued their pursuit of the talented teenager.
However, the 16-year-old has told his agent to prioritize any offer coming from Real Madrid above any other.
Real Madrid are keenly interested in Mastantuono as they see him as someone who could become an icon at the club, similar to the expectation of Endrick.
Los Blancos are yet to make a formal offer for the wonderkid but sources say their bid is not far away. Real Madrid plans to pay a fixed fee for the youngster and more in variables, but the player will stay at River Plates until he turns 18 in 2025 when he turns 18 – similar to the Endrick operation.
Mastantuono is a swashbuckling left-footed attacking midfielder who barely fails to impress whenever he steps on the pitch.
