Vazquez has performed remarkably well when given an opportunity by Carlo Ancelotti this season in the absence of Dani Carvajal. His underlining performance of the campaign came in El Clasico where he scored, won a penalty and delivered an assist to show how influential he can be both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
After El Clasico, the Spanish winger-turned-fullback said he only wants to continue playing at Real Madrid. It looks like he will get that wish.
Real Madrid have an unwritten policy of only handing one-year extensions to players who are above the age of 30 and 32-year-old Vazquez seems set to get his.
Nacho, a close friend of Vazquez, is unlikely to get a contract renewal after reportedly deciding to leave. However, the situation is not that clear for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
All the aforementioned players will be free to leave the club in June if no new deal is signed.
