Spain to introduce 'Mbappe law' just before Kylian arrives in Madrid

The Community of Madrid is likely to introduce the 'Mbappe law' ahead of the Frenchman's Real Madrid move, report Relevo's Gonzalo Cabeza and Manuel Amor.

The law will allow investing foreigners to pay up to 20 per cent less tax on their earnings in the region of Madrid.

The change in legislation would be particularly beneficial to Kylian who would be taxed almost HALF of his wages if he weren't investing in Madrid's economy. With this new law in force, only 24.5 per cent of his salary would be taxed.

It is noted that people pushing for the law to be approved are close to Florentino Perez.

Back in 2005, a similar law called the 'Beckham law' was introduced – it allowed eligible individuals to pay taxes on their Spanish-sourced income only. Of course, David Beckham was one of the first people to take advantage of it.
