"The [PSG v Barca] result is in God's hands," Kylian Mbappe said days before facing Barcelona in the Champions League.
This is not the first time the Frenchman mentions 'God' in an interview. While some people think he's Muslim, the truth is he's a catholic Christian – this is what he confirmed in a talk with school children in 2018.
"Everyone has their own way of seeing religion. I'm not someone who shows off a lot, so I won't do that [on the pitch]... but if there are others who like to exhibit their religion, it's their choice and it must be respected.
"[Are you a follower?] Yes. [Are you a practitioner?] Yes. [What religion are you?] Christian."
Kylian apparently followed into his father's footsteps here, Wilfried Mbappe is of Cameroonian origin and also Christian. As for his influential mother, Fayza Lamari, she is of Algerian origin and Muslim.
