Weird scenes unfolded at Louis II Stadium on Friday evening, when PSG faced AS Monaco away from home.
Kylian Mbappe started for the Parisian side only to be subbed off at halftime without an actual valid reason for that.
While it might have been just a precaution, since Luis Enrique's side have a crucial second leg Champions League clash in four days, it doesn't explain why the Frenchman went straight to the tunnel, changed into his regular clothes and imposingly walked to the stands to watch the second half with his mom instead of joining his teammates on the bench.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the game, the PSG boss explained his decision to sub Kylian off.
"Sooner or later we will have to play without Mbappe, so I am looking for the best option for the team. We have to get used to that."
Is that really what we think, and is he hinting at Mbappe's imminent move to Madrid? Or is there more to it?
