Real Madrid considered signing Darwin Nunez in June 2023, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Whites 'made some calls' to understand the Uruguayan's situation. Both the club and the player were internally discussing the potential move; however, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp decided to keep the forward.

Real Madrid reportedly inquired about several strikers last summer – including Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. Despite that, they only landed Joselu on loan and didn't go for a high-profile no. 9 at all.

Darwin Nunez is having a great season with Liverpool, scoring 13 goals and delivering 11 assists in 37 appearances for the Reds. He plays both as a centre-forward and a left winger.
