Vinicius had a rather poor performance against Atletico Madrid as Real Madrid suffered a 4-2 defeat in extra time. The Brazilian missed several chances, often lost the ball and made a mistake leading to Griezmann's goal in extra time.
However, Carlo Ancelotti has refused to criticise the forward in his post-match assessment.
"He had more difficulty in the first half, but in the second half he was decisive in fighting back in the game," Carletto said, as quoted by the club's official website.
"He provided the assist for the second goal and was a constant threat. His game was at a very high level, even if he didn't score. Little by little he'll learn.
"It was a very competitive match where he had a lot of clashes and you're not always able to keep a cool head. I think it's quite understandable. For me he played his game, he had his chances and he fought."
