'We've spoken to the club': Ancelotti opens up on potential centre-back signing

"We have spoken with the club [about the need of signing a centre-back], we will evaluate it in the coming days," Carlo Ancelotti has told the media.

"We have time to do it because the market ends on January 31 and we are going to look for the best possible solution. For now, we are in no hurry.

"This is not the time to announce the names. If there is a possibility of signing a player who is good for the club and for the season, we will do it," the boss added.

Carlo Ancelotti reportedly asked the board to sign a new centre-back in January following David Alaba's season-ending injury. However, the club don't plan to make any signings next month.

It was suggested that Real Madrid would recall Rafa Marin from loan, but the board apparently don't want to break the agreement with Alaves who they will face on Thursday.

Real Madrid have Antonio Rudiger and Nacho as the only natural centre-backs available.
