Carlo speaks about the European Super League and particularly about the verdict of the European Court of Justice that will be issued exactly next Thursday. The Court will make the final decision on the case between UEFA and the potential future project that could replace their competitions.
It is expected that both UEFA and the European Super League organisers will have the right for organising football competitions following the ECJ verdict. UEFA, however, will no longer have a 'monopoly' on football tournaments, so the Super League would be able to finally kick off.
Real Madrid and Barcelona remain the organisers of the European Super League. If the project kicks off, each of the two clubs will get an injection of €1bn.
Florentino Perez's reported new idea is that there would be three divisions of football with 20 teams each. Both Real Madrid and Barca would obviously part of the top division.
