Benzema scores record-breaking goal at Club World Cup

Karim Benzema bagged a sensational goal on Tuesday for Al Ittihad in their 3-0 win against Auckland City in the first round of the Club World Cup taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

With that goal, Benzema became the first player to score in six FIFA Club World Cup tournaments. He appeared in five at Real Madrid. The legendary striker continues to do it even at the age of 35.

Benzema's team will now face African Champions Ahly in the quarter-final. If they progress, Fluminese awaits in the semi-final with a potential final against European Champions Manchester City.

The French striker won the Club World Cup five times at Real Madrid. This season Benzema has scored 11 goals in 17 games for Al Ittihad.
