Return to 4-3-3 and one more change: How Real Madrid can lineup without Vinicius

The injury to Vinicius Jr. forces Carlo Ancelotti to rethink his formation for the upcoming games.

Multiple reports suggest that Ancelotti will revert to the 4-3-3 formation but there's also a chance that he will stick to the 4-4-2 as we know Carletto doesn't change his style easily, particularly a winning one.

Here are two ways how Real Madrid could lineup without Vini going forward.

4-3-3

Ancelotti could switch from a front two to a front three with Rodrygo taking up a place on the left-wing. Valverde will play on the right, a position he's played a lot for Real Madrid.

Bellingham would have to drop a bit deeper in this system and his goal return might be affected. However, Carletto could give him the freedom to continue to arrive in the box as the extra forward.

4-4-2

Real Madrid XI: Kepa; Fran, Alaba, Rudiger, Carvajal; Camavinga, Tchouameni, Valverde, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Joselu

Ancelotti is also likely to continue with his 4-4-2 formation with Joselu replacing Vinicius up front. This was the system Madrid played against Celta after Vini picked up the injury.

Real Madrid managed to win at Celta despite the setback but the coming games will determine how well they do without their talisman.
