Real Madrid set to promote one player to replace Militao (reliability: 4 stars)

Real Madrid are going to promote Marvel to the first team, reports Diario AS' Carlos Forjanes.

The centre-back will replace Eder Militao in the Whites' squad.

Marvel will be Real Madrid's 4th natural centre-back in the Brazilian's absence. He has been training with the first team these days and his physical condition has impressed Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has already called Marvel up to the first team when they played in the Club World Cup last season. Back then, David Alaba was injured and the 20-year-old was brought as his replacement.

Last season, Marvel was a regular starter for Raul's Real Madrid Castilla team, making 27 appearances and scoring one goal.
