Real Madrid are finalizing the signing of Joselu from Espanyol, according to Marca.
The 33-year-old striker will arrive at Real Madrid on a one-year loan deal instead of a permanent transfer.
The loan deal is thanks to a release clause in his contract that allows him to join another team on loan if Espanyol gets relegated. That already happened last week.
Real Madrid will pay his full wages during the one-year contract. His salary will be around €3m for the year which is €1.5m less than what Mariano Diaz earns. Mariano is leaving next month by the way.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will continue to search for a striker even after Joselu arrives. The situation is even more serious if Karim Benzema announces his departure.
Victor Osimhen, Harry Kane, Lautaro Martinez, Roberto Firnino and even Kai Harvetz are some of the strikers being linked to Real Madrid.
