‘They cry a lot’: La Liga president Tebas slams Real Madrid for financial complaints

Speaking about claims that Real Madrid struggled to compete against clubs like Man City due to financial disparity between the two side, La Liga president Javier Tebas said: “Our clubs on national television earn the same as those in the Premier League.

“Real Madrid cry a lot, but it’s not true, as they earn the same as those in the Premier League. That’s why when the teams with the highest income in the world come out, Real Madrid and Barcelona come out of the first. I don’t know what else they want.”

Real Madrid might be among the clubs with the highest revenues every year, but most of the money they earn is spent on paying players, paying for transfers and improving things like the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Unfortunately for Los Blancos, they don’t have a state sponsoring them and the financial crunches brought by the Covid-19 pandemic have stopped them from lavishly spending on big-name transfers in the last few years.
