Real Madrid's loanee Reinier was sent off in Girona's latest match against Espanyol despite not even being on the pitch.
El Chiringuito TV report that the Brazilian saw the red card for telling the assistant referee that he was "very, very bad" while warming up on the sidelines. The winger will now miss the upcoming match against Barcelona.
Girona's coach Michel was very critical of Reinier in the post-match presser and revealed that the club will sanction the youngster.
"Reinier has to improve in this regard. I was going to sub him in because he is a good player and can make the difference but he made a mistake. We will sanction him at the club," he said.
"We don't know if we will have Aleix Garcia for the game at Camp Nou, Yangel Herrera is injured and we needed Reinier for the match because he's an important player for us.
"Often times the players do not understand that 25 minutes of good football from them can win us the match. He will be out for one or two games now, he made a mistake and needs to correct it. The referee and assistant had already told us that he was protesting on the sidelines."
This term so far, Reinier has made 10 appearances for Girona and has scored one goal. He is set to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
