'He is my idol': Rodrygo names one Brazil player who supported him after Cameroon loss

"Neymar congratulated me at the end of the match against Cameroon. He told me to continue like this despite the defeat and to not think about what happened. To leave it behind and look forward," Rodrygo has told the media, via Goal Italia.

"Neymar showed so much confidence in me before the game. He’s a master and he is my idol. It's an honor to play with him," he added.

Just like Neymar, Rodrygo began his professional career at Santos.

Brazil lost to Cameroon 1-0 but kept their 1st place in the group safe nonetheless. Rodrygo started the game and had a decent performance, although he failed to find the net.

Tite's side will take on Korea Republic in the last 16.
