Belgium got away with a poor performance against Canada but could not do the same in the match against Morocco, losing 2-0 to the North African side at the World Cup.
Thibaut Courtois has nothing to do with the outfield players under-delivering, but he does share part the blame. Thibaut conceded free-kick a goal at the near post, a shot that you'd normally expect the best goalkeeper in the world to save.
For the record, the attacker did not touch the ball, it was a direct shot that the Real Madrid goalkeeper conceded.
Seeing Thibaut's slip-up, many fans (although mostly rivals) only came out to say that he's been underperforming recently.
ShaunlfcT (Twitter): "Courtois let’s that in in a WC but he played like he’s family we’re held hostage against us [Liverpool]. Cheers mate."
NealGardner_ (Twitter): "Morocco lead… at last! Courtois got away with the first one, but ends up conceding a very similar goal. Those are always complicated ones, but you’d expect him to do better. Either way, huge goal!"
hazfcb_ (Twitter): "Courtois has been sooo shaky this season he’s looking like his 18/19 level."
madridblaugrana (Twitter): "You can say that Thibaut Courtois and Hazard have been the worst players for Belgium and you would be right."
giraltpablo (Twitter): "The worst version of Thibaut Courtois in a long while. Inrecognizable."
rumpel_irving (Twitter): "Courtois and Benzema couldn’t last for two seasons."
UTDTrey (Twitter): "They compared Courtois to De Gea."
Courtois had a great game against Canada last time but now it looks like that was a one-off. The 30-year-old has been rather mediocre for Real Madrid this term, conceding 16 goals in 15 matches and keeping just 3 clean sheets.
