'My hope is to stay': Vallejo seeking the opportunity to replace Ramos and Varane

"I have to return to Valdebebas once the Olympic Games finish and prepare for the season that starts in a week," Vallejo was quoted by Marca.

"My hope is to stay at Real Madrid, to do things well and to contribute to the team.

"Until the end of August, everyone knows that footballers always have their suitcases ready."

Jesus Vallejo spent last season on loan at Granada. The 24-year-old centre-back joined Real Madrid from Zaragoza in 2015 for €5m.

Following the departure of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, there is some void in Los Blancos' defence and Vallejo could fill it if given the opportunity.

The defender is currently helping Spain at the Olympics ongoing in Tokyo.
