4 best and 2 worst Real Madrid performers in June: ratings

Best

Karim Benzema

Although France have been eliminated from the Euros, Karim did what he had to do, scoring 4 goals at the tournament and almost singlehandedly keeping his team in the last-16 battle against Switzerland.

At the same time, Benzema missed a few scoring chances against Hungary as France failed to win all three points in Budapest. This is why we can't give him the best mark.

Benzema's June rating: 9/10.

Casemiro

The Brazilian has been crucial to Tite's side and not just thanks to his defensive contribution.

Casemiro has been everywhere in midfield, intercepting balls, tackling opponents and providing key passes for his teammates.

Casemiro's heat map vs Colombia

The captain also delivered a late game-winning goal against Colombia at Copa America, securing a first-place finish for Brazil in their group.

Militao's June rating: 8.5/10.

David Alaba

Despite failing to deliver as a centre-back against the Netherlands, the Austria captain proved himself well, making the difference at left-back.

Alaba got 2 assists at Euro 2020 and won the Man of the Match award in the North Macedonia clash.

Alaba's June rating: 8/10.

Luka Modric

The Croatia captain proved his worth again, singlehandedly sending his side into the Euros' last 16 with a brilliant performance and a goal against Scotland.

He probably could've done better in the previous clashes against England and the Czech Republic as Croatia won just one point in these two games.

Modric's June rating: 8/10.

Honourable mentions: Militao 7.5, Valverde 7.5, Courtois 7.

Worst

Raphael Varane

The centre-back pairing wasn't France's strongest point at the Euros.

In particular, Varane didn't contribute much to his side's effort of beating Switzerland in the last 16, losing possession 8 times and being partly responsible for the conceded goals.

Varane's June rating: 5/10.

Gareth Bale

The Welshman is yet to end his 15-game goalless streak with the national team.

Despite a decent performance against Turkey (he missed from the spot though!) that helped Wales reach the last-16 stage, Bale didn't meet the initial expectations and will try to recover ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

Bale's June rating: 4/10.
